The Reiki Badge of Self-Care

Self-Reiki-Badge-300x300I have recently worked with several new clients who have taken a Level One Reiki class, yet were not “doing Reiki.”

While giving a Reiki session is a beneficial for both the giver and the receiver, the most important healing you can give is to yourself.

As I have written about before, doing Reiki daily, or in my case nightly, has proven to be more valuable than I would have ever thought possible. Besides waking up much more rested in the morning, giving myself Reiki before I go to sleep releases and balances my physical body. My nighttime sessions have also become the time when I seem to get my most creative ideas. I tell you, I’m really getting a lot out of this.

It also just feels good.

  1. Excellent. Evening time is my least disciplined time. If only I could start a bedtime routine of balancing with Reiki or Healing Touch. You are awesome.

  2. Hey when you do Reiki? Every night? What do you do exactly? How do you do you whole body, or do you? I have a minor head cold, kind where you are stuffy but functioning as the mayhem and challenge of court and finger issues and the reversal of healing has me so messed up past week plus. So I want to do Reiki every night, but have only done isolated reiki on myself You know on throat for sore throat or head for headache? What do you do for entire body?

    I start with the top of my head, eyes, face, throat, head, upper chest, heart, ribs, belly, lower abdomen. Check out this post by Pamela: http://reikiinmedicine.org/daily-practice/how-to-practice-reiki-self-treatment/ .
    When I Reiki my head, the more relaxed I become. If I am awake for a long time I do my heart area for longer. My hands also tend to heat up when I am holding an area that needs more attention.
