For the last nine months or so, I have been playing crystal singing bowls during my morning meditation. The classic white frosted singing bowls. These bowls have been instrumental in helping me stay grounded, especially between clients and before healing sessions.
I have also been watching all the youtube videos I can find, reading sound healing blogs, and learning everything I can about vibration, sound, and healing.
After extensive research on sound healers, I found a workshop with someone who appeared to resonate as I do with the old-school frosted white bowls. I am SO glad I took this workshop. It was amazing. I loved every minute. We learned about the science of sound, deep listening, sequencing for the nervous system, and the anatomy of a sound bath. I love Melissa’s practical, playful and intuitive approach. Her partner Jason Hee did the technical support, and the sound was excellent.
I have been so inspired, and my personal use of the bowls has deepened, as well as my ability to stay grounded. In this crazy world now, staying grounded is a huge deal.
I am so busy with my healing business, so I don’t see myself running out to do sound baths. That said, playing the bowls has shifted my healing space; I sense so much more in my client sessions. I have been ‘feeling’ sounds in my client’s body for a long time now, and many healings feel like my client is tuning (coming into harmony) underneath my hands. I am becoming aware of this even more during my healings after the workshop – it’s like something new has opened up. It is crazy. Wonderfully crazy.
