Last week, I had the honor of co-facilitating a five-day Breath Retreat with Neika Embry Whittemore at Little Yosemite Lodge. This stunning location—the same place I’ve visited many times over the years for quiet meditation—feels like sacred ground.
This retreat was such a precious gift. Dedicated time and space for everyone to receive, process, and truly embody all that unfolded during the four breath sessions.
Everything felt absolutely perfect, even the imperfections—because they were a part of the beautiful, authentic journey. 🙂 Every soul present was exactly where they needed to be, each one of us a vital part of this extraordinary process.
It was a heartwarming reminder that when we come together in trust and openness, magic happens.
Although I will not be facilitating any retreats in the near future, there are other Breathwork (Breathfun) retreats at Little Yosemite Lodge. In October, Kristen Maurice will be leading one with Neika, and I tell you, I would love to be there!

The practice of circular breathing to experience higher states of consciousness was practiced in the ancient cultures of India, China, and Tibet.
“So much of the breathe is a blur. In some ways, it felt long, it felt the full 50 minutes. In others, I did not want it to end because it was lovely. I did manage to focus on my breath. I did manage to float. That’s what it felt like—I would float. Detach completely. I was conscious of it—the coming and going. I’d leave my body and come back. I’d feel the breath as I came back. I was very conscious of coming back into my body and then slowly feeling myself float off again. It was gentle, light. There was a LOT of light too, so much light. The whole room held all this light almost the whole time.”
