Three Very Interesting Resources On Distance Healing

I have to begin this post with a confession.

I prefer in-person sessions over distance treatments. I would much rather see my clients face-to-face, talk with them in the same room, and feel the healing energy with my hands.

That being said, I have been very impressed with the benefits my clients have received from our distance healing sessions since sheltering-in-place started. Sometimes I even feel like the distance healing sessions reach deeper into my client’s energy field than the in-person treatments.

Maybe that is because of the accelerated energy of this crazy year. There are new levels of consciousness opening up. Transformation is ever-present. Outdated structures and routines are breaking down daily, and at the same time people are healing themselves faster than I have ever witnessed before.

Distance healing is a great way to support ourselves and each other in these unpredictable times.

Below are three resources on distance healing I found helpful to me.

Click the link below for a brilliant (I mean really, really interesting ) article on remote healing sessions by Tim McConville, BS, HTCP/1. Tim is a certified Healing Touch practitioner/instructor. He is also a Qualified Mentor and instructor for the Mentor Training course in the Healing Touch Program.

My foundational training to be an energetic practitioner was with Healing Touch Program and highly recommend the current online classes.

Healing In Hospitals

A quote from the book: A Business Of Healing

“Many of the “miracle sessions” I have experienced with my clients have been in hospitals. Getting energetic healing modalities such as Reiki and Healing Touch into our medical institutions would eliminate so much suffering and promote vital self-healing. If there is one way this book may influence the world may it be to encourage energetic healing in hospitals. Even one healing session in a hospital can create enough energetic support to turn a patient’s healing process around. Energy healing in hospitals would greatly shift our medical culture.”

“I also want to say that everyone can hold space in the hospital for themselves or a loved one. Prayer, meditation, or pujas are all so helpful. Even when it does not feel like you are doing anything, let me assure you that you are. You will feel it, experience it, and know it on a deep level the more you do it.

One grounded centered person can shift the energy of an entire room.

We. Are. More. Powerful. Than. We. Have. Ever. Imagined.

Mercury Retrograde: An Auspicious Time For a Healing

You may have heard that Mercury Retrograde may not be the best time to sign an important contract, make major financial decisions, or send a UPS package. Yet, it is a good time to reflect, review, recheck your bank accounts, and reorganize your closet.

It is an excellent time to physically, emotionally, and mentally reset. It is an auspicious time to begin a juice fast, digitally disconnect from social media, or go camping in nature for a few days.

Mercury retrograde is also the perfect time to schedule a distance healing.  It is a great opportunity to dive deep and release past issues holding you back from feeling fully present and alive in your life. In 2020, Mercury will be in retrograde from October 14 to November 3, 2020.

Reiki Master John Harvey Gray

I love watching healing videos. I find it so relaxing. I feel a transmission of energy as I watch other energy practitioners, especially those that have spent decades deepening their practice.

Everyone finds their way of working with energy. Some people feel the energy and some people hear, or see the energy. Some healers energetically work with specific areas of the body and others hold a healing space of unity consciousness that allows their client self-heal.

There are so many ways to bring peace to ourselves and others.

John Harvey Gray is no longer with us on the planet, yet Dr. Lourdes Gray continues his work at The John Harvey Gray Center for Reiki Healing. She has made many videos from her student’s questions.  You can find her videos here: https://www.learnreiki.org/asklourdesgray-show/

Relax and enjoy watching!

The Healing Power Of Acceptance and Self-Compassion

“Let us visualize a world where all global citizens are loved. Let us embrace a flow of change and send out positive thoughts of peace and acceptance. Please take a moment to honor all walks of life.”
I found this beautiful quote and intention in the Healing Touch Community Newsletter.  I wish I could report to you today that I only felt peace and positive vibes this week, but that was not my experience.
I felt a rush of anger, despair, and grief around the tweets, news, and unfolding of events since last Friday. There was so much energy in my body; it was overwhelming. I thought about all the things that I could, and should be grateful for. That didn’t help, in fact, it made me even more irritable.
Acceptance was my only path through it. Not acceptance of what was happening, but acceptance of how ungracefully I was experiencing it. Acceptance of how overwhelmed I was and how hopeless I felt.  Self-compassion for all that I couldn’t seem to deal with.

After I finally felt that acceptance; I recommitted. I now feel an even deeper commitment to show up, do my best, and stay connected to my highest wisdom in every way possible. To hold space for all that is happening in these crazy times. There are infinite possibilities in this moment. I feel even more grounded, energized, and creative.

I am so grateful for my daily self-reiki treatments, breathwork sessions, and meditation practice. I can’t imagine what my life would be like without these tools.

I know the next few months may be crazy. I will probably feel overwhelmed again. I also know that my renewed commitment to holding a high vibration of acceptance for myself and peace for our world is greater than ever.

Feeling Sleepy In Healing Sessions

My Mom began reading my book.

When we talked yesterday, the first question she asked me was, “I was surprised to read that you fall asleep in your healing sessions.”

I think there are going to be a lot of things in this book that may be surprising.

Below is a short quote from the chapter called The Question, where I attempt to describe all the things that I may experience in a healing session:

“…Occasionally I may suddenly feel intensely sleepy. That is an energetic frequency that may last most of the session, or only a few minutes. When that happens, I have to focus on my breath, sit even more upright, and stay balanced until it passes. The sleepy energy has proven to be greatly beneficial for my clients, especially when I stopped resisting it.”

Early in my practice, I felt the sleepy energy much more than I do now. I can’t tell you how upset I used to get when it happened. I totally resisted it and physically tightened up when I felt it. It made me feel like I lacked the stamina, ability, and focus I should have as an Energetic Practitioner. I believed the thought that “This is happening because I am not a better healer; only losers feel sleepy when they are healing.”

One day I realized this sleepy energy was a healing vibration, just like all the more obvious high energy and sparkly frequencies. That day I was tired because I had been up most of the night before, so when the sleepy energy came in, I didn’t fight it. I didn’t resist or contract my body against it. I kind of surrendered into it because I was really tired. It lasted most of the session. It was a little intense holding that space for almost fifty minutes, but I did it.

It was a great healing for my client—one of those profoundly off-the-chart sessions. I realized  ‘sleepy’ energy is a powerful healing energy. Now when it comes, I relax my body into it, deepen my breath to stay focused, and hold it for as long as needed for my client.

I  also realized I spent the first five years of my healing practice resisting an energy that my clients may have needed to rebalance and heal. If I had not been so judgemental, I could have been learning how to hold it as efficiently as possible, rather than trying to get over it.

That being said, I am also always open to the information that I might need more sleep, that I might be run down, or need a few days off.  I always check my grounding before, during, and after the session. My focus is to stay as open to all information that arises in my healings. That information may tell me I need more rest.

I hope that by sharing my experiences in this book, other practitioners will not waste so much time resisting any of the beautiful, restorative, and rebalancing healing energy available to us.

A Business Of Healing By Jeri Lawson

JeriBookCover

This feels like an odd week to announce my book. The orange sky, dark days, and fires have added another layer of craziness to our lives. My family in Oregon almost had to evacuate their home. These are crazy times.

So, that being said,  The book I have been writing for the last year is now available.

It is not a book about the euphoria of healing. This book is about my experience as a professional healer over the last twenty-five years.  There are plenty of wonderful and inspiring books written on Reiki, Healing Touch, and other energetic modalities. This book is about issues and paradoxes in my practice that I couldn’t find in books by other healers, things that took me a long time to understand on my own.

It is about how I learned to trust the healing process and let go of everything blocking me from being fully present for my clients. How I learned to hold an energetic space that would allow others to self-heal.

“It took me over twenty years to develop the ability to completely trust the energy. To understand that whatever happens during a healing is, and will always be, perfect. This trust has become an embodied skill. Now fully embedded in my muscle memory, this healing skill is my superpower.

We are all capable of accessing our unique superpower, and it certainly does not need to take twenty years.”

Healing: Creativity Is Our Power

“Creativity is inherent in being human and is key to how we learn and grow; creativity is our power. And in this day and age of great change, exercising our creativity is a revolutionary act.”

Beth Barany, Writer

Do you feel stuck and uncreative? Do you feel like you just can’t finish that book, painting, or business plan you started? Is it hard to stay focused on your projects as the world appears to be unraveling?

A distance healing may be just what you need to clear whatever is holding you back from being fully present in the moment and connected to your inner guidance. An energetic session may clarify what you are called to create at this time, and what the world most needs from you.

A Reiki or Healing Touch session may also help you realize that the most creative thing you can do is let go of the thought that anything even needs to be created. Maybe being able to fully relax into not-doing is what opens the door to your greatest creative flow and allows you to step into your greatest service for the planet.

Distance healing is powerful.
