The Gift Of Regular Healing Sessions

A short series of healings can reset your nervous system, body, mind, and, therefore, your experience of life. Energetic sessions provide the space for you to relax and deeply rebalance, making it so much easier to connect with your inner guidance, creativity, and life direction.
I have clients that schedule sessions every week, every two weeks, and several that come once a month. Others book regular sessions for a fixed period of time to address a specific issue. They might be focusing on anxiety/panic attacks or want energetic support while going through a divorce. Several clients have found Healing Touch and Reiki sessions deepen their daily meditation practice.

Energetic Healing and Self-Regulation

Self-regulation is an essential life skill.

It is how you balance and manage your emotions, thoughts, and actions to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Self-regulation helps you achieve overall life goals and aspirations.

Self-regulation is the difference between eating a whole bag of potatoes chips when you are upset instead of maintaining a healthy diet. It’s the difference between yelling at your partner instead of calmly talking through a problem that has upset you.

Self-regulation is something we each do every day with varying degrees of success. Anxiety, depression, binge eating, and self-medicating can happen when there is a lack of effective self-regulation.

You can learn to self-regulate more efficiently by receiving Healing Touch and Reiki sessions. There are so many energetic meditations, practices, and tools!

As an Energetic Practitioner, one of the many energy patterns I might find in a first session is that I am working with a person with a high abundance of life force energy in their physical body.

This is a good thing… Who doesn’t want more energy? Yet, self-regulating so much energy can be tricky. An overflow of energy can be experienced as anxiety.  It can be overwhelming and make my client feel edgy, nervous, overreactive, and even like they may be having a panic attack.

When I work with clients with this energy signature,  I often recommend daily exercise to help them self-regulate this energetic gift. Yoga is very helpful in keeping the body’s energy flowing and grounded. Running, going to the gym, or hiking can also help these high-energy people feel balanced and clear.

Energy work can help us live better and enjoy life more.

Letting Go Is Healing

“Letting go is like the sudden cessation of an inner pressure or the dropping of a weight. It is accompanied by a sudden feeling of relief and lightness, with an increase of happiness and freedom. It is an actual mechanism of the mind, and everyone has experienced it on occasion.”

In this book, David Hawkins states that the resistance to painful emotions is more painful than actual ones.

This book is brilliant. It is about how healing it is to experience all your emotions, especially the difficult ones. Usually, when we feel overwhelming emotions like fear, anger, rage, worthlessness, or grief, we tend to suppress, repress, express, or escape them. 

Hawkins instructs us to locate the sensation of the emotion in our body. Is it in your throat? Abdomen? Head? What happens when you just connect with it? Hawkins recommends not following your thoughts about the emotion but feeling the emotion in your body and letting the emotion move through.

This book has a very simple message that is profound. It has given me a deeper insight into my work, and life. I highly recommend it.

Jump-start Your Meditation Practice

These are the times a regular meditation, prayer, or yoga practice can be really beneficial for your health and well-being.

Coming for a Reiki or Healing Touch session is a great way to jump-start your meditation practice – no matter how you meditate. Energy sessions calm and reset your nervous system, so it is much easier to focus in your daily practice.

Healing: Feeling Unsafe To Be Safe

In Chapter Eight of her book  Welcoming the Unwelcome, Pema Choödrön writes:

“The more willing you are to step out of your comfort zone, the more comfortable you feel in your life. Situations that used to arouse fear and nausea become easier to relax in. On the other hand, if you stay in the comfort zone all the time, it shrinks.”

 

I do everything I can to create a safe place for my clients when they come for a healing. I make sure the temperature of the room is perfect for each individual  (there is a huge range of preferences). I choose their favorite music and set the volume at a soothing level. Each session is at least two hours apart, so no one leaves feeling rushed, or ungrounded.

Despite all my good intentions,  I often witness my clients feeling unsafe to relax and let go on the healing table. I have realized that to truly create a space for my clients to feel safe, they often have to feel unsafe.

After long periods of stress their emotions, mind, and physical bodies have tightened up to protect, support, and defend them. Letting their guard down and relaxing their muscles can feel foreign, and even scary.  Many people receiving an energetic treatment are sometimes surprised in the first session to find out how much trauma they were holding.

Yet, just this conscious awareness of our internal state is so healing, however difficult it is to first acknowledge.  Even if people “fail” to relax in their session, that subtle inner awareness begins to change their experience of life for the better.

Sometimes people are back to their center in one session and sometimes it takes months, even years for others to finally experience what it is like to feel relaxed and safe in their bodies and in the world.

Reiki Supports All Stages Of Your Healing Journey

On social media, I recently read that Reiki treatments alone are not sufficient to heal all aspects of your life.

I might agree with that on certain levels, yet Reiki and energy treatments can definitely support you throughout the whole of your healing journey.

Whether you are healing from a cancer diagnosis, are going through a round of insomnia, or at a point in your life where you can address old childhood trauma,  Self-Reiki is always there for you. All you have to do is put your hands on your heart and let the energy comfort, rebalance, and relax you. This peace is so powerful during times of great transformation and expansion. Reiki healing is abundant and always accessible.

In my healing practice, I have many clients who are working with Psychotherapists, Chiropractors,  Acupuncturists,  Functional Medicine Doctors, and Family Marriage Counselors. Reiki sessions help these clients integrate and embody the shifts from all their healing sessions. Lately, this has been especially true – and productive – for people doing Ayahuasca and Plant Medicine Ceremonies.

Reiki treatments also gently access old thoughts and beliefs that they can take back to process with their therapist.

Tara Brach: Facing Fear In A Traumatized World

I find this video calming.

Tara names many of the things we are all feeling. She states that the essence of trauma is feeling cut off. In times of great fear we energetically shut down and that disconnects us from our soul, spirit, and our wholeness. If we don’t deepen our attention, life is easily hijacked by fear.

I have listened to this video many times and I receive deeper insights each time.
