Every five years, I have to recertify to continue my practice as a Healing Touch Practitioner. It’s not as labor-intensive as becoming certified, yet it does take some time. Without getting too boring… I had to document 75 hours of continuing education and participation for the last five years. I was required to write a report on my professional and personal development, as well as how I see my healing practice developing. I also had to write about my participation in the healing community.
I was certified in 2001, so this is my fourth recertification.
This is a lot of work, yet I am glad I have to do it. I know anytime I refer a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner to someone, that Practitioner is qualified and engaged in their healing practice. They have to be serious about their healing practice to do all this paperwork. 😉
I also want to remind you that many hospitals have Healing Touch Practitioners available. When you have surgery and procedures in other states, ask if there are any nurses or volunteers that do Healing Touch. This modality is SO HELPFUL after surgery. I just had another client in San Diego get a session post-surgery. It was incredibly helpful in her recovery.
