Healing Touch: After the Dentist

Going to the dentist feels routine, right? We fit appointments in between work meetings and grocery runs like it’s no big deal.

But on a primal level, having someone work inside your mouth can be stressful for your body and nervous system. Even when you trust your dentist completely, your body may still feel threatened. Old childhood dental memories can resurface, and you can feel extra emotional after a simple cleaning.

A Healing Touch session can help reset the nervous system and restore a sense of calm. It’s a beautiful post-dentist modality—and a reminder that these are moments when we need to be especially kind to ourselves.

Jeri Lawson has a full-time healing practice in Oakland, California. She is available Monday through Friday for Healing Touch, Reiki, and Clarity Breathwork.
